My boyfriend is celiac and can’t drink beer. This makes things hard for him and he doesn’t want to feel socially awkward so I’d like some of your ideas.
What alcoholic beverages would you recommend for him?

Celiacs can drink Gluten Free beer, and there are plenty of those around these days.
Other than that, I would recommend he drinks cider, wine or spirits.
As you don’t state why he can’t drink beer I am assuming it’s due to an allergy or migraines. Beer triggers migraines as does red wine in many people. The hops in beer is a common allergy.
If the reason is something like that he needs to figure out what he can drink without causing issues.
If it is just because he doesn’t like the taste how about Irish Whiskey?
Bottled gluten-free beers are readily available in the UK – but not necessarily in bars. Coeliacs who can’t find, or don’t like, gluten-free beers can get by on cider – a similar strength drink drunk in a similar way.
