Question by Jibbs: Is it possible to DEVELOP celiac disease? If so, how likely or often does this development occur?
Because when I was 16, I had a test that said I was negative for celiac disease. But now I’m 20 and have the bloating and diarhea symptoms and I’ve had them excessively for around eight months now. So is this possible and if so how possible? any help would be appreciated, good day

Hi, celiac is a genetic based autoimmune disease, so yes, you can develop it at any time in your life. The way this works is that if you have the genetic makeup to have the potential to get celiac, then you can develop it at any time. I lived my whole childhood without it. The doctors think that the birth of my child was what triggered my celiac.
Since you are having symptoms, please go get retested. If you have a first or second degree relative with celiac (parent, sibling, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) you should really be getting tested every 2-3 years if asymptomatic, immediately with symptoms.
