Question by Wildflower: Does a newly diagnosed celiac need to replace the food processor to avoid cross contamination?
I’ve replaced the toaster, can opener, cutting board and non-stick cookwear to avoid cross contamination, but wondered if items like the food processor and blender also need to go.

No. Just clean them thoroughly. Those types of items don’t really ‘catch’ a lot of food, as say, a toaster would. Also, the gluten cannot absorb into the stainless steal blades. So I wouldn’t waste money on new ones.

Im very sorry but u wasted money! The ONLY items u need to avoid when switching to GF cooking is the toaster and any plastic items like, plastic colendars. All other metal, non stick, or pots and pans etc, can all be washed in hot soapy water and be done with it. Many Celiacs cook with those who do eat gluten and do just fine. U do NOT to replace the food processor or blender!!!
